I was thrilled to partner with the JTeen mental health support helpline, which serves Jewish adolescents and young adults aged 11-24, for a podcast where I shared my experiences with bipolar disorder and social anxiety. My goal was to help others, inspire individuals to seek assistance, and demonstrate that discussing mental health is completely acceptable.
You can view the podcast here, but please be cautious: it contains discussions about suicidal thoughts, psychosis, mania, involuntary hospitalization, and depression. Recommended for ages 18 and up.
I chose to participate in this podcast to combat stigma within the Jewish community in London and across the globe, and to educate people about bipolar disorder, particularly parents, since my journey began at 15.
A heartfelt thank you to Yaakov, Tehilla, and Michal for creating such a relaxed yet significant discussion.
With love,
Eleanor
